Bill Hogan

Bill Hogan joined NetApp in 2003. Currently, he oversees business operations of the Eastern Americas Enterprise Business Unit. Since joining NetApp, Bill has played a key role in NetApp’s unprecedented growth. He has established a reputation in the industry as a leader in building and leading management teams that attract and retain talent while executing at a very high level. As Executive in charge of NetApp’s New York City office, his emphasis on collaboration, innovation and execution helped garner recognition as CRAIN’S “#2 Best Place to Work in NYC” in 2010 and #6 in 2011 and FORTUNE’s “Top Ten Best Places to Work” in the US for the past nine years, as well as #3 Multinational Workplace in 2011.
Bill is a product of Catholic Education. He was educated at Resurrection Grammar School in Brooklyn, followed by Regis High School in Manhattan and finally Boston College. He has gone through additional Leadership Programs at Northwestern and Thayer Leadership Institute at West Point, amongst others.
Bill started his career with EMC’s Sales Training Program spending 10 years at EMC in various Sales and Executive Leadership positions. After EMC, Bill was an Executive with a Virtualization start-up, StorageApps, prior to their acquisition by HP. At HP, he served as General Manager of the Storage Virtualization Solutions Group and after taking some time with his young family, joined NetApp.
Corporate accomplishments aside, Bill is an avid philanthropist. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Diocese of Brooklyn Futures in Education Foundation as well as its Corporate Advisory Board. He co- founded and co-chairs the Annual Angels on the Fairways Outing which has raised over $3,000,000 since its inception in 2005. When The Futures Dinner was cancelled in 2007, Bill stepped up as Co-Chair and helped resurrect this event in bringing it back to over $1,000,000 for the first time since 2001 and the dinner has exceeded $1,000,000 each of the past four years Bill has Co-Chaired. To recognize Bill’s efforts he will be the Honoree at the 2012 Futures in Education Dinner at the Waldorf on October 2nd .
As NetApp’s Executive Sponsor for the St. Baldrick’s Organization, he has lead NetApp to become the foundation’s top global supporter and annual shave in 2010 and 2011. He has rung the Opening and Closing Bells at NASDAQ celebrating his, NetApp’s and St Baldrick’s success. Bill also sits on the Advisory Board of Justin Tuck’s RUSH for Literacy Foundation and the Advisory Board of MercyFirst. In the aftermath of 9/11, Bill founded and co-chaired the Friends of RVC911 Foundation, funding the college education of dozens who lost a parent on 9/11. Bill was honored as the Chief Brehon at the 2011 Great Irish Fair of New York City for his tireless efforts in support of Education of the underprivileged.
Bill lives with his wife Kate of 17 years and four children at their home in Rockville Centre, N.Y. Liam is a 14 year old freshman at Regis High School. Daughters Elle, 12 and Maddie, 10 along with son Aidan, 8 all attend St Agnes Cathedral Grammar School in Rockville Centre. Bill is active in his hometown as well coaching soccer and basketball and a supporter of St. Agnes Mother’s Club and Father’s Club, St. Agnes CYO, and Long Island Lightning AAU. He also is a consistent supporter Regis, Boston College, and many local charities.
