With Thanksgiving and Christmas rapidly approaching, I hope this edition of “New Developments” will serve as a simple reminder for everyone to include Futures In Education in your prayers for our grammar school students in Brooklyn and Queens, and that you consider a gift to Futures, by clicking here, to aid financially disadvantaged youngsters attending our schools at this time.
For example, students like Shannon and Ashley, whose mom, Carol, spoke at our annual Scholarship Fund Dinner (click here to read Carol’s powerful speech).
During these trying times when corporate dollars are cut, charities have an obligation to demonstrate not only need but a constituency dedicated to its cause. Private dollars are now more important than ever. Your generosity at this time is so critical. Our fundraising efforts support marginalized families and those all too often forgotten about in today’s fast-paced society. In fact, the average family income of four who is supported by Futures is only $27,000 a year.
Your generosity at this time will help our children and their families, who have made a quality Catholic education a top priority. Your compassion and generosity will mean the difference in a child’s life who otherwise would be forced to miss out on a cutting-edge Catholic education based in a safe, nurturing environment.
Time and time again, supporters of Futures have answered the call. Thus far in 2013, you, and so many others like you, generously contributed to Futures to support the Be An Angel Program, Adopt A School Program or have attended one of our many special events including our Annual Scholarship Dinner, golf outing, young executives’ receptions or other gatherings.
Please again answer our call and support our efforts with a gift at this time. Futures will continue our fundraising to provide for our Catholic schools that are synonymous with academic success versus their public school rivals. If you have already contributed, thank you and I hope this column inspires you to do so again and again.
Additionally, please act as a messenger for us and let your family, friends and colleagues know about Futures In Education. The secret is out – together, we can make a difference and answer our call that no child shall be denied a Catholic education due to financial constraints.
By contributing now, your commitment demonstrates that the work done in our Catholic schools will continue to shape generations that follow. Furthermore, it allows Futures to approach corporations and foundations who often review donor participation rates before deciding upon which non-profits to support.
Futures tries to make giving extremely easy by allowing you to click here.
Thank you for your support of Futures In Education and the students entrusted to our care. I hope that you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving and a very merry Christmas!
