January 17^th was our first Futures Hockey Night at Nassau Coliseum where the NY Islanders faces off against the NJ Devils.  Although it may not have been a winning night for the Islanders it sure was for Futures in Education.  With over $11,000 generated from ticket sales and a portion of the net proceeds going to support our schools there was nothing but winning sirens for our team.

Futures in Education can not thank the Islanders enough for all that they do for our children including; providing students from two of our Catholic schools with a Modell’s shopping spree.  As an early Christmas gift 50 lucky students from St. Mary’sNativity School and St. Claire’s in Queens were given very generous gift cards from the NY Islanders, all-time Islander great Mike Bossy and Modell’s in Lake Success, Long Island. Children were able to pick from an assortment of items. True to the giving nature of the season, the children bought gifts for others while reserving the right to give themselves a little something.
