The Futures in Education Foundation
School-Business Partnership
Program links together caring businesses and corporations in distinctive
partnerships with high-quality Catholic elementary schools in the
Diocese of Brooklyn. A Business Partner shares resources of time, talent
and finances with an individual school and its students by sharing their
financial support and professional expertise to those of their
educational partner. By linking business, education and community,
schools are enhanced and children get a glimpse of their future through
the personal involvement of business professionals. This program helps
schools thrive and prosper.
Becoming
a Business Partner will allow an individual representing a business/
corporation to:
-
Provide a school with a three-year financial commitment in support
of curriculum, technological, capital, and other critical needs
-
Aid
in maintaining a high quality of educational experience for children
in the partner school
-
Foster a personal relationship between a business/corporation and an
educational institution
-
Assist a partner school with their business plan
-
Provide positive, personal role models as examples for students to
follow
-
Have
a chance to participate directly in the life of the partner school
in significant ways; potentially including, mentoring students,
implementing a marketing plan, building a science lab, creating a
music program, expanding technology in the classroom, and others
-
Provide new hope for children who come from the often challenging
environments of the Brooklyn/Queens melting pot.
As
a representative from a corporation/business expresses interest in
joining the School-Business Partnership program, Futures in Education
Foundation will recommend a specific school as a partner. This
recommendation will be based on the combination of excellent leadership
at that school along with the potential for a business/corporation to
enhance their academic offerings. Before finalizing the “partnership,”
a meeting will be arranged between representative(s) from the company
and the school’s principal.
With
their Business Partner’s collaboration, these schools are able to more
adequately prepare for the future, build on their strengths, and provide
a superior education for the workforce of tomorrow.
